Can I also generate a receipt myself and sell it in my store?
Yes, you can do this very easily in your own dashboard. Log in on your computer, iPad or mobile phone: create a receipt with the desired value. Print the voucher yourself, or print the QR code with a label printer and attach it to your own gift voucher. The issued voucher is immediately registered in your administration panel.
What is the cancellation period of my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription with Lift-On at any time.
How do I know that customers can't use vouchers more than once?
Each voucher is protected with a unique number and can only be redeemed once. Simply scan the QR code with a smartphone and enter your unique Lift-On PIN to invalidate the voucher.
How does the system work?
The customer can simply select one of the vouchers you set up on your site and proceed to payment. The customer can pay online using their credit card as your shop is linked to your Mollie account. The customer can choose whether she/he wants to receive the voucher immediately via email, or via post. Mollie collects the payments for your vouchers and transfers you the total amount of all vouchers sold in that period 2x per week. The transaction cost of 0.35 pence per transaction is automatically subtracted. The vouchers all have a unique code that is only generated once a voucher is sold, it couldn't be safer. You will receive an order confirmation via e-mail for every voucher sold. This way you know whether you have to send a voucher via post and which address you need to send it to. In your own dashboard, you can easily see which vouchers have been sold, redeemed or expired.
How do I know that Lift-On is a safe site?
This site has a security certificate, which you can see by the green lock and the https: // protocol. The s in https stands for secure.
Why do I have to create my own Stripe account?
As of 1 January 2019, it is no longer permitted by law for us to channel money flows to your account without a permit of the Bank of England.
How do I create a Stripe account?
It's very easy and only takes a few minutes. Go to your shop and click on connect stripe, you will be redirected to Stripe, enter the details that are being asked. After registering you will receive an email from Stripe with your username and password. You have now connected Stripe to your shop as well as created a stripe account.
A receipt has not been delivered to my customer: how is that possible?
There can be 3 reasons: 1. The receipt has ended up in the spam folder of your customer. 2. the customer has entered his email address incorrectly. You can see this in the dashboard, you can change the email address manually and send the receipt again. 3. The customer has not left the payment screen at the bank correctly so that the paid order is not linked back to your shop. This is a banking problem with some banks: there are also banks where this is done automatically. You will always receive an e-mail from Mollie stating the order and payment. This way you can easily verify whether payment has gone through if a customer asks you about this problem. If the payment has indeed gone through but no voucher was generated from your dashboard, you can always create a voucher yourself in the dashboard and send it via e-mail to your customer.
How do my customers know that we sell digital gift certificates?
By constantly promoting your online gift cards. Think about advertising it at the bottom of your receipts, or with a poster at the door or window, via social media, etc. Once your customers have bought a gift voucher online, they will use it more often.
What about VAT on gift cards?
As of January 1, 2019, the arrangements for gift vouchers (telephone card, gift card, VVV receipt) have been replaced by a new system with a single (single purpose) and multiple (multi-purpose) vouchers. A gift voucher is therefore now called a voucher for the tax authorities. Single-use is used if it is already clear when the voucher is issued where and for what it will be redeemed. Think of a cinema voucher or a book voucher. These can only be returned to a designated party for one specific good or service. There is a multiple-use voucher if, when the voucher is issued, it is not yet clear for which type of good and/or where the voucher will be redeemed. Good examples are the dinner voucher or a gift card from a department store. It is not known in advance what will be bought with the dinner voucher. These can be food (9%) or alcoholic drinks (21%).
When to levy VAT?
In the case of multiple-use vouchers, the VAT is charged - as was previously the case - only when the coupons are redeemed. The receipts of undelivered receipts are not included in the VAT levy. So far nothing new. The changes are greater for the single vouchers. From now on VAT is already due on the sale of the coupons. The turnover of the coupons in this category can therefore no longer be excluded from the VAT levy.
What type of coupons can I sell through my website?
The Lift-on program offers the possibility to sell digital gift cards, vouchers and tickets, which the visitor of your website will receive after payment via email and can print at home. You may already be selling coupons in your own business at this time. We call these coupons physical coupons. Lift-on offers the possibility to also sell these physical receipts via your website, where you can let the buyer choose to pick up this physical coupon or voucher at your store or have it sent to you by post.
How is a physical gift voucher recorded in my dashboard?
When you have sold a physical gift voucher via your website, you will receive an email. If the buyer has chosen to have the voucher sent via post, you will find this information in the confirmation email along with the address where the voucher should be sent. You will also receive a QR code in this email, which you can print on a sticker using a label printer. This QR code is the link between your physical gift voucher and the administration dashboard. You simply have to attach this sticker to the gift voucher and send it out to your customer. Once that customer comes into your store, you can validate the physical gift voucher by scanning it with your phone and entering your unique Lift-On PIN.
